Check out my blog!
Time sure flies when you are having fun!
I have been staying busy trying to get new projects out of the way and build up some Christmas stock at the same time. I am working on Christmas stockings and placemats. And having a blast designing them from scratch!
I am currently doing an Apron Party Pack for a child’s Birthday Party. The mom had the idea of a Strawberry Shortcake Themed party. We came up with 3 different colored aprons, pink, red and green. The children’s names will be embroidered on the front of the aprons.
I just finished a Travel Pillow case Party Pack. The client wanted them for her daughters slumber party. We found the perfect fabric, monkey slumber party fabric at Joann’s. And seeing how there was one boy, we went with Car’s fabric.
They turned out great!
I predict they will be the hit of the party!
Thanks for stopping by today.
I love to fill custom orders. I love to make what YOU want, after all it is for YOU!
A customer requested a purple princess apron with pocket and her child’s name embroidered on there. I went shopping and found the perfect purple, swirly fabric, sure to delight any little girls heart. I embroidered on the princess crown and the child’s name. The pocket came from the left over fabric from the cutout of the rectangle apron shape. The apron is double layered and has the ribbons sewn into the seams. I double stitched the apron all the way around. I want this to be durable and last for a long time! The apron is finished and ready for shipping off to it’s forever home.

I am back after my “vacation”. My surgery was on Thursday, Sept 29th and I am progressing very well. I am able to sit up in somewhat a normal postition and able to move somewhat freely around the house. I will take it “easy”, but still get things done!
I missed doing my crafts, even Hubby said it was time to get back to sewing. Something about I might be happier. Is he finally getting it? 🙂
I will sort through my projects today and see what I can get going. I do have a couple of projects that are on hold, due toward the end of the month. I will let you know how it goes!
Thanks for reading!
I love to be contacted and asked if I could make something out of some fabric that a customer just fell in love with. I love to take their enthusiasm, get a picture in my head, and watch it come to fruition!
I had a client who wanted another Tote Bag, (repeat customer:)) she found some fabric and 4 quilt block fabric that she wanted it made out of. So I started off with….
I thought the process out like making a quilt, cut the mouse fabric into strip to frame around two pictures to create the front and then another for the back. I put another strip joining them at the bottom. Becareful to make sure of the orientation of the pictures, don’t want one or both upside down! 🙂 I was also careful of the orientation of the mice.
I used batting and an inner fabric to finish off the bag. I added a zipper and an extra long strap. This is what I ended up with!
I had a blast making this tote bag for a great customer!

Thank you for visiting my blog!
Thought I would let you know about a special request that came through my Etsy shop, plainjaneb2b.etsy.com. The request was for an Eyeglass case with a dragon and child’s name on there. At the time I did not have a dragon design, but I went searching and found the “perfect one” at emblibrary.com.
Here is a picture of the top half of the Eyeglass Case looks like.
I love to take existing patterns and make them special for you!
After all it is FOR YOU!
Thanks for visiting today!
Even though I have finished my Ladybug Party Supplies, there is no rest for the wicked! I have a couple of orders being worked on. I have Strawberry Shortcake Inspired Apron Party Pack, a Custom Dragon Eyeglass Case, a Cat Themed Tote Bag, and 2 Glass Tile Necklaces. Busy, busy, busy!
My Embroidery machine is in the shop for a quick check-up. There is a burr on the bobbin thingamabob and it was shredding my upper thread. Can’t wait to get it back and get these orders taken care of. I have to get them completed before I go on vacation Wed, Sept 28,2011.
My surgery is scheduled for Sept 29, 2011. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. 3 Years ago, I lost 100 lbs. Now, I am in the middle of my journey with plastic surgery. This time is will be for a Lower Body Lift, kind of a tummy tuck/butt lift all in one.
Even though I will be outon “vacation”, anything ready made will be mailed out in a timely manner. Custom Sewing/Embroidery orders should be available after Oct 10th. I will keep you post as time goes by.
I finished the Ladybug Birthday Party Supplies and I am impressed! I have been wanting to try to make these and found out they are fairly simple, yet quite rewarding. I love getting the vision in my head of what it could be and then seeing the project through to completion.
My name is Gail and I love to craft! My main wish is to make everything someone wants custom made. How many times have we heard or said, I like that – just wish it was a different color or design or, etc…
My name Plain Jane Back to Basics is based on a need and desire to get back to the basics. Through required lifestyles, Gluten Free and Less Sugar, our family has gone back in time to less is more. I cook from scratch and I craft from scratch. Everyone loves what I have made so far, but to me they are nothing fancy; hence the name Plain Jane. So my motto is, Nothing Fancy just Good Quality!
I do a little bit of everything and always game to try something new. I have a sewing machine and an embroidery machine. I also do some Jewelry work with beads and glass tiles. If there is something you want, please contact me and let’s make something together!
